IPRS Hubs for IPRS members across India

In over 5 decades of its existence IPRS has always put the creator first. Helping music artists navigate the complex world of intellectual property, royalties and the constantly evolving music market has driven the end goal at IPRS. Strengthening the toehold further, IPRS, in tandem with local established studios across India has set the ball rolling with a freshly launched resourceful series of measures under the masthead IP Hubs. Tailored to facilitate the understanding and protection of the intellectual properties, these IP Hubs are the perfect remedy for urban independent to rural folk artists in the form of physical touchpoints.

Why is the IP Hub initiative a gamechanger?

The great response to the My Music My Rights workshops, raked in a need for continuous, on-ground support for creators. IP Hubs address this need by offering permanent, easily accessible support centers within trusted studio environments familiar to local music communities.

IP Hubs will function as knowledge and assistance points where creators can:

  • Learn about copyright, licensing, and royalty structures
  • Get step-by-step support with IPRS membership registration
  • Receive help with song/work documentation
  • Participate in community sessions, workshops, and Copyright Cafés
  • Access region-specific and multilingual guidance

Rakesh Nigam IPRS CEO reveals

“Creators shouldn’t have to travel to metros or rely on inconsistent sources to learn about their rights,” said Rakesh Nigam, CEO of IPRS. “With the launch of IP Hubs, we’re bringing support directly to them—helping creators understand their rights, protect their work, and connect with the growing music rights ecosystem.”

  • These hubs are more than helpdesks—they are collaborative cultural spaces that blend traditional knowledge with modern-day rights awareness, strengthening a culture of accountability and empowerment across India’s music communities.

13 studios have been onboarded for the initial run of the IP Hubs. Each hub will also host ongoing knowledge sessions, rights awareness drives, and support services in regional languages, making the initiative accessible and inclusive across India’s diverse music landscape.
