KOLAB stands out as a unique initiative, spearheaded by IPRS, the sole music copyright society representing authors, composers, and publishers of music in India. This initiative marks a milestone for IPRS as we launch a new and distinctive IP, where two culturally rich nations—India and South Korea—joined forces to create something truly special.
The collaboration between IPRS (The Indian Performing Right Society Ltd.) and KOMCA (Korean Music Copyright Association) gave birth to the Indo-Korean Songwriting Programme, a first-of-its-kind partnership between two prominent music copyright societies. We are immensely proud to have established this cross-cultural exchange, fostering collaboration between emerging artists and musical talent from both countries and showcasing their creativity on a global stage.
At IPRS, our core responsibility lies in safeguarding the rights of creators, ensuring they are compensated fairly whenever their musical compositions and songs are streamed, downloaded, broadcasted, performed, or played in public.
KOLAB Season 1 was more than just a camp—it served as a gateway for Indian and Korean artists to collaborate, exchange ideas, and create music with global appeal. Held from November 6th to 13th, 2024, the week-long songwriting camp became a vibrant hub for exceptional musical talent from both countries. It successfully bridged two distinct musical styles, fostering creativity and cultural synergy.
We’re thrilled to witness the incredible synergy between these two vibrant music scenes, and are confident that the music born from this collaboration will make waves, not just in India and South Korea, but far beyond
