His stint as a journalist could not smother his passion for his first love …the Guitar. Nilanjan Sammader, is one of the most gifted guitarists doing the rounds of the music circles of the day. Much sought after as a soloist, sessions musician, concert guitarist, Nilanjan, honed his skills under stalwarts Amyt Datta and Sumith.
Among others, Nilanjan has graced the stage with musical luminaries like Hariharan, Louis Banks, Ustad Raza Ali Khan, Lesley Louis, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Jolly Mukherjee, Ustad Rashid Khan.

Branching out as a music composer, Nilanjan has also composed over 100 songs, short films, ad jingles, carving a niche for himself as a prodigious talent.
Adorned with the CLEF Music Award 2024 for his song Aalpin, Nilanjan has also steered away from the beaten track with thoughtful collaborations. His melodies Samandar, Manchali, Ayenawala, Khoyeri Sweater, have won plaudits from a wide listener base.
